Joy embodies total wellness. Her business slogan of, “Empowering healing through mind, body and spirit” can be found in all of the services she offers. Born and raised in a family of five in rural Brainerd, Minnesota, she spent as much time as possible outdoors, participating in a variety of activities and loving nature. She started her professional career in the medical field, obtaining her Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) Diploma in 1984. Joy was a National Registered Emergency Medical Technician from 1993-2013, and had additional EMS training as a CPR instructor, National Registered EMT Intermediate, and an EMS Instructor Trainer. From 2000-2003, Joy attended Wellington College of Remedial Massage Therapies in Winnipeg, Canada. She became licensed to practice massage in North Dakota in 2001. Thereafter, she took all of the post-graduate workshops offered at Wellington College in mobilization and advanced muscle energy techniques. She then progressed through the courses at the Canadian school of Osteopathy for massage therapists including techniques in fascia, myofascial, diaphragm release, lymphatic, and cranial sacral balancing. Staying active is important to Joy. She started self-practicing yoga in 2000, and became a yoga instructor in 2012. She was also a Zumba instructor from 2008 to 2014. Joy took midwife assistant training in 2008 as a one week intensive on the Farm in Summerton, Tennessee. Here she experienced a key point in her spiritual journey, surrounded by a sisterhood of women full of love with no judgment. Feeling that vibration is what she strives to carry forward in all she facilitates. In 2012, she started incorporating crystals with Reiki training, pendulum work, and essential oils in the aspect of energy clearing and shielding. She completed Reiki levels I and II in 2012 and became a level III Master Teacher in 2014. Joy took the CARE courses intensive in 2015, which included emotional release with essential oils, chemistry of essential oils, vitalflex and raindrop techniques. She also started daily meditation at this time, and found it to be really influential in her metamorphosis. Daily meditation, journaling, yoga, and mindfulness have progressed her energy work — a practice that is growing and evolving. Through her passion for lifelong learning, Joy brings all of her knowledge and experience into all of the services she provides.
